LOCATION OF JAPANESE HEADQUARTERS IN HONGKONG.O

From a letter written by a Chinese who had lately left Hongkong it was learned that things were still going on in Hongkong fairly well, "though the Japs are taking over many things

They have such as the telephone system, power plant, etc. military headquarters at the Race Course and have commandeered the Moore Memorial Church nearby for offices, also the Foreign Y.M.H.A. and the American Club.

#38. Par.2.

"It seems from reliable reports that the earlier report of the murder of some Americans is quite untrue."

35. Par. 2. The writer has been sending messages to his family

via broadcast.

Blue Letter. Feb. 22. P.2. Par.5:-

"The building situation here is extremely difficult as so much has been destroyed by bombing and there is such a demand for what exists."

#35. Par. 3-

Paving and improvement of the roads has been going on well, however a trip to Chengtu from Chungking (275 miles) took 65 minutes by air and 2 1/2 days by road.
